Prayer Corner

Sometimes

Sometimes, God, sometimes I think I’m on top
     of everything.
Nothing can stop me, and I have everything
worked out for myself, for once.
Sometimes, God, sometimes I think quietly
     to myself,
How can it possibly get any worse than this?
What am I supposed to do?
How can everything be so wrong?
Sometimes, God, sometimes I wonder how it is
no matter how hard I try,
I’ll never understand why it didn’t happen
     differently.
Sometimes, God, sometimes I wonder what my
future will be like and if it will have as many
ups and downs, twists and turns, that the
     road to my past has.
No matter what I go through, God, there is one
     thing I know for certain:
You will be there with me through it all,
     Every time.
