Wounded Warrior Monologues

Excerpts from several of the Wounded Warrior's Monologues

Misery Day 100

Sorry it's been a while since I last wrote.
I guess some things just shouldn't be shared. I ask everyone to pray for heavenly protection on our behalf. For guidance, the ability to overcome our fears, and for peace.
These are what we really need.

Justin Bajema

I positioned myself at the rear door, away from the services, but with a clear view of everyone in the home. As the Chaplain began to play Christian music on his acoustic guitar, everyone started singing, Kum By Ya My Lord, Kum By Ya. It was amazing to witness the power of faith, unity and the joy of worship. But what was truly inspiring was the courage of the Afghan Citizens.
It dawned on me at that moment that we were not so different. The Aftghanis¹ wanted what all Americans take for granted as a right; religious freedom.

Dad's fears had come true, but I wasn't hurt in combat. I was just dining down the street when I got blown up. Two roadside bombs. Two 155 mike mikes. Artillery shells. There is no rear in Iraq. The combat zone is everywhere.
Michael Jernigan

Send me to war?
